    How are replacement windows installed?

Sometimes the easiest way to update an older home is by getting custom windows installed. Believe it or not, windows are an investment that keeps on giving for your home.

Not only do windows last an average of 20-40 years, but they will keep giving you your money’s worth each month when you receive your electricity bill.

When you have custom windows fitted to your frames, you’ll have a tighter seal blocking excess wind from entering your home and heat from escaping.

What should you expect at your custom window installation appointment?

On the day of your custom window installation appointment, expect a crew of people to arrive at your home. Sometimes the company may send just two glaciers and other times they may send 3-5 to help get the job done. The main crew member, or foreman, on the job will go over how the day is going to go so you can ask questions.

Here’s how a typical installation works:

    1. The crew may prep your home with cloths or tarp to catch dirt as it may fall while they remove your current windows.
    2. Once the current windows have been removed, the crew will clean your frames and seals so your windows go in with a clean slate.
    3. Next, comes the installation portion of the project. Your windows will get installed and sealed to the frame. Having your windows sealed will help you heat and cool your home without excess air leaks.
    4. Finally, the crew will clean up any messes they made and will let you know (if you are present) that the project is done. They may ask you for feedback at this time or to view the windows and give your seal of approval on the installation process.
