Getting a good night’s rest can benefit you in many ways. According to the doctors and scientists at WebMD, the right amount of sleep at night results in stronger brain processes, positive emotional responses, a healthier heart and lower blood pressure, improved athletic performance, more consistent blood sugar levels, stronger immunity to germs, and help with weight control. This doesn’t mean you should sleep longer than necessary, but it does mean you should take steps to ensure a full night of good sleep.

    Change Your Bedding

If you’re not getting the rest you need, you may want to take a look at your bedding. By increasing your personal comfort at night, you may find that it’s easier to get to sleep and stay asleep. Begin by looking at your pillow. Does it support you properly and help maintain a comfortable temperature? Items such as Cariloha bamboo pillows could be the beginning of positive improvements. Take a look at some of the benefits of switching out your old pillows and moving to bamboo.

    Support Your Spine

Bamboo pillows get their name from the fibers used in the woven material of the case. These pillows are generally filled with memory foam for a personalized fit to your body and your personal preference. The pillows are designed to support a healthy spinal alignment. This is important because the spine affects your entire nervous system. If your spine is in a natural, relaxed position throughout the night, it aids overall healthy body function.

    Maintain a Neutral Position

Did you know that your sleep orientation also affects your health? The best position is on your back. This position holds your head and neck in a position that supports your spine’s neutral position. A bamboo pillow with that thins just behind your shoulders helps you maintain this healthy sleeping orientation. Of course, many people sleep on their sides or stomach. A thin bamboo pillow can be used to support an orientation that is as close to neutral and relaxed as possible.

    Increase Personal Comfort

Some of the best news about bamboo bedding is that it offers a lot of benefits. In addition to supporting a healthy sleeping position, bamboo products are generally very soft and comfortable. Bamboo itself is naturally sustainable and are plentiful. The fibers may be used on their own or combined with other fibers, either natural or synthetic. The fast-growing nature of bamboo means that fibers are readily available, so the high-quality, comfortable products are affordable.

    Reduce Exposure to Germs

The antimicrobial and hypoallergenic benefits of Cariloha bamboo pillows reduce the likelihood that bacteria enter your mouth, nose, and eyes during your sleep. Antimicrobial properties of bamboo keep the bacteria away because of high levels of lignin (a polymer in plants.) Bamboo, when not exposed to chemicals, are hypoallergenic and are less likely to trigger breathing and skin allergies.

    Cool Down

Other benefits of bamboo bedding include a high absorbency and natural cooling benefits for hot sleepers. If you tend to get hot and sweaty at night, a bamboo pillow and some bamboo sheets could be just what you need. In your search for a healthy night’s sleep, don’t discount the improvements that come from switching to bamboo bedding.
