How To Choose A Commercial Moving Company

Given the infrequency of business company relocation, it can be quite challenging to select a reliable mover that caters to one’s needs. However, there’s no debate that one should employ the services of a Commercial moving company in Florida

Finding a reliable moving company requires some research, but the benefits are great! Hiring a moving company begins with knowing your end goal and asking relevant questions to potential movers. After all, you’re trusting people you don’t know with very valuable assets.

It’s therefore important to do your research well to hire the best company that suits your needs.

Here are a few tips on how to choose a suitable moving company.

  • Verify the Address

Visit the mover’s website and get their address. Make sure it’s the same that is listed and that it’s not a residential address but rather a company address. If the address is a residential one, chances are high that the movers are not professional.

  • Read Reviews

Customer feedback never lies and it’s important to read reviews online- or hear them about the company. Ask your friends, family, and colleagues or even read about them on trusted sites that provide reliable feedback about the company’s work.

  • Find Experts For What You Need To be Done

If you’re looking to transport sensitive data, delicate electronics or even high-end furniture, then you have to find a company that has trained staff to handle such. Experts will know how to handle and treat specialty items in case of any eventualities.

  • Find Out What’s In Your Plan

Whether or not your plan is customized to your needs, you have to find out beforehand what is included and whether there are any exemptions. For example, will the movers do the packaging for you or will you and your team have to do it yourselves? Will they provide boxes or crates that are suitable for your items or will you have to source them yourself?

Have a list of valid questions to ask to avoid disappointments on the day of the move.

  • Ask For Professional Accreditation

In America, trade associations routinely vet companies before they are given membership or seals. When looking for a moving company, it’s important to find one that carries the American Moving and Storage Association’s ProMover logo.

  • Investigate The Company

Don’t take the company’s word for it. Check and countercheck whom they say they are, and what they can do for you. Try to see if you can catch the staff in action, and verify whether they handle other people’s assets as well as they say they do.

Do they do intensive background checks on their staff, especially in cases where they’re meant to transport sensitive or high-value assets? Are the employees trained?

  • Get Estimates

Visit at least 3 different companies and get their estimates. One is not enough. While doing the estimates, note how the staff carries themselves in a professional setting. Are they confident enough to make your relocation hassle-free? Do they answer your questions well?

  • Find Out If They’re Licensed and Insured

Before you settle on a moving company, make sure that they’re licensed and insured. After all, they will be transporting valuable items and one needs some kind of assurance that in case of unforeseen eventualities, the cost of replacing the items will be covered.

  • Trust Your Gut

Sometimes, it’s important to just sit back and let your sixth sense lead you. If something does not quite add up, or you feel uneasy about the situation, run for the hills! For example, most moving companies do not ask for cash deposits before the move, and if they do, they are most likely not a legitimate business. If you can’t bring yourself to sign that contract, then don’t do it. Start the process again.

Hiring the right moving company takes hard work, and the process can be stressful. To avoid the stress, take a little time, and vet potential movers. This will save you quite a lot of time, and  hassle.
